This is a picture of the "degree of roast" we use in the competitions. As you can see it is quite light, a City stage roast, perhaps we could call this a City- roast. It has made it through first crack and the roast stopped soonafter. You can see the ruddy surface appearance and dark-colored creases in the bean. This type of roast will reveal the cup qualitites of the coffee (and underscore the defects) but it is probably too light as a real-world, drinkable roast.
