If you travel in coffee land a lot, the appearance and character of the different cultivars starts to make sense to you. That's why the visit to the botanical garden was such a shock. You may think nothing of a 30 foot tall coffee tree, but I have never seen anything like it! These are Liberica and Canephora trees, which are not commercially viable for quality coffee production, yet they are impressive!
