When we are at the cupping tables, total silence is maintained so all the judges can score the cups independently. Afterwards we all gather to openly discuss our scores ... not that the discussion changes them. In fact we turn in a duplicate copy of the score sheets as we leave the cupping room, and discussion is done for our own edification...
